Kline, activist for Alzheimer’s

Walt Kline spent the last seven years of his life fighting memory loss with all his considerable strength and courage, becoming an inspiration to countless others affected by Alzheimer’s.

Kline, 76, a Cary resident and IBM retiree, died Wednesday at a Sanford hospital of pneumonia, said his widow, Peggy Kline.

After Walt Kline was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment in 2004, the Klines became deeply involved with the entire Triangle community of people and professionals touched by Alzheimer’s, not just making use of services, but also sharing what they learned with others.
