Barrington’s Weiss receives Elite 88 award

Petra Weiss, a member of Barrington’s state champion field hockey and lacrosse teams in the early 2000s, recently capped off a successful rowing career at Brown. An economics concentrator with a 3.961 GPA, the senior was chosen to receive the Elite 88 award, which is presented by the NCAA “to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s championships.”

Weiss was a member of Brown’s Second Varsity Eight that helped the Bears capture their first NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Championship since 2008, last month on Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif.
