World, Meet Records fall at 2011 Oxy Invite
A last chance qualifying meet for many, the Occidental Invitational drew more than 950 athletes, ranging in talent from high school to Olympian with every category in between represented. With a plethora of strong performances throughout the course of the day, a Master’s World Record was set and a new Meet Record was claimed.
two-time indoor and two-time outdoor – pole vault National champion while at Indiana State who now trains with Team Nike, set a new Meet Record of 4.50m (14’9″). The previous record was 14’3½” set in 2007 by Erin Asay of Sheffield Elite.
Later in the meet a Master’s World Record went down when Willie Gault ran a 10.88 100 meter race.
