Tutor training offered for older Tucsonans
People age 50 and older interested in tutoring elementary school children can attend a free training program Monday and Wednesday.
Sponsored by Tucson Oasis and the Pima County Public Library, the workshops will prepare volunteers to mentor and work one-on-one with students to improve their reading skills.
Training runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at Tucson Oasis headquarters on 2099 E. River Road.
Oasis is a national organization that provides educational and volunteer opportunities and health programs for people age 50 and older.
